Hey all! A quick recap of our 4th of July weekend. While I am sure we weren't quite as patriotic as you all were back home (no fireworks, lakes or Busch Light here), we did celebrate the most legendary American holiday here in Singapore in style. A recap below:
My American friend Sonia and her husband were kind enough to host a gathering at their place. The BBQ was complete with coolers of ice cold beer, burgers and hotdogs on the grill and red, white and blue desserts - what more could you ask for!?
Most of the decorations were purchased from the dollar store back in the U.S. during Sonia's last trip home. #HostessGoals
It's not a 4th of July party without a flag cake. We do have Betty Crocker boxed cake mix available here in Singapore and it did not disappoint. (Disclaimer: I did not make said cake). I did however bring an American classic - the rice crispy treat. They were a huge hit.
Great times all around. Thanks again for a such a wonderful gathering. USA USA USA!
Other updates: Michael is in the middle of three back-to-back work trips. This week he's in India (Bangalore?! and Mumbai) and will make a quick stop in HK next week before we jet off on a little get away. We are very much looking forward to a 5 day jaunt around Margaret River, Australia. Our time will be spent touring vineyards, cheese factories and whale watching. We are even staying on a proper organic farm complete with kangaroos. GAH! As the Aussies say, it'll be bonza!
Hope you all had a wonderful and safe 4th of July celebration back in the States. Until next time.
XO,
CD
