Hey all! I'm back.
Cheers to a short week, amiright!?
Weekend recap for your reading pleasure.
We had a productive weekend on the books since we have big plans for the next 4 weekends in a row(!)
(if you are interested in keeping track: this weekend we are taking advantage of the holiday and heading to this small island off Malaysia for some R&R. Next, we are playing host to Michael's parents - absolutely can't wait! - followed by the 4 of us taking a trip to Bali. Just after that Michael is scheduled to be in HK for a week).
Phew! It's amazing how busy we sound, but I promise you this, tropical jungle life here doesn't move all that fast ;)
SO our productive weekend meant cleaning up the apartment, shopping and wedding planning while things were still relatively quiet. Fun stuff.

Friday night was a low-key dinner of satay at the famous Lau Pa Sat. The main hawker is under construction, but the satay stalls fire up and line the entire block at night. Luckily, this fun outdoor street eat is just around the corner from our offices. Perfect spot for a casual Friday night date night after a long work week. (it looks pretty quiet since we were there early, but the place gets crazy packed. In fact there was a stag party gearing up right next to us)

Chicken, beef & prawn satay - zucchini, onion and a rice cake side - peanut sauce for dipping. Tiger Beer from a 'Tiger Girl' is required. (that face, optional)

Hmm have not tried the wings yet...

Saturday we had some old furniture and boxes we needed to take out of the guest room. In classic boy-girl fashion, I was not being helpful enough in 'picking up my side' of the desk for hauling. My feet shuffling and whining quickly led to Michael incredible hulking the entire thing while I ran after him taking pics for the purpose of the blog. You can imagine how well that went over ;)

Next on the list was shopping: wedding tux and business shirts for him. Potential wedding shoes for her.
The trip was a semi-success. The major shopping area in Singapore is Orchard Road. Imagine if all the 5th Ave and Soho shopping in NYC was located in the middle of Times Square (heaven meets hell my friends). 3.5hr later we managed to leave with a few new shirts and shorts for Michael and a bag a macaroons for me. (We will save Michael's heated rant about the complete non-existence of the button-down collar in Asia for another time).

Business on the top, party on the bottom.

The weekend ended with dinner at our favorite KBBQ place in our neighborhood (surprise, surprise) and a little late night concert at home (some of you were lucky enough to get a video of Michael's performance :))
Lastly, I leave you with a little bonus footage from last weekend. (mostly because I feel as if I didn't get enough face time in this post, but also because I skipped last weeks recap).

Is it strange, embarrassing or worrisome that I frequently tell Michael he could totally be a model in a beer ad? :)
Travel research and wedding song planning :)
