Bye Bye NYC

Goodbye 9K! We had a great run!

We will miss your incredible fratio that provided us, and many others, with incredible amounts of joy, grilled meats, pong games and afternoon relaxation - you were the perfect oasis in the concrete jungle. Thank you fratio, you will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

We will miss your cozy paint colors (that we had to pay a small fortune to remove once we left) and your ability to make us feel truly at home.

We will miss your direct rays of sunlight from 8am - 11am and beautiful sunsets and shadows.

We will miss your ability to contain only 1 documented cockroach and 4 small mice.

We will miss your flexibilty to transform from a smelly 2 bedroom frat cave (sorry Johnny) to a beautiful, young adult, 1 bedroom apartment, almost perfect in everyway.

We will miss your sweet doormen and the way you always made it easy to get a cab.

We will even miss the sweet lady who worked at the laundry mat next door. Although your same day service claims are completely bogus, you were a part of our life and routine - bouns points for telling Michael he looked like he lost weight! It was only fitting that after we were all packed up and moved, we waited on the floor of our empty apartment for over an hour waiting for our laundry from you.

You know what, we may even miss the crabby manager in the sweater vest at Morton Williams (grocery store) and our neighborhood bum. May I finally forgive you for your incessant defecation on our block.

New York, 9K, you were really, really good to us.
As one famous New Yorker would say, on to the next one!

Work Farewell

In what has been my biggest shock of reality to date, I celebrated my official last day at work this week! (As if having a 2-D relationship in a different time zone wasn't reality enough). Packing up my things and saying my goodbyes made this move seem real.

Everyone was so kind and generous in celebrating my last week at work - and it truly was a week long event. My closest friend at work was so kind to organize an after work happy hour at our favorite rooftop bar near the office.

We had a great turnout, but naturally insisted on 'girls only' pics :)

We had another mini send off with my immediate team right before I officially left. What thoughtful people!

Don't worry it's just sparkling cider ;)

I am so thankful for the personal and professional relationships I have made in the last few years. I am so thankful for the incredible amount of growth and happiness I have experienced the past 3 years. I credit a large part of that to the amazing, intelligent and hard working people I have been lucky enough to work with everyday. Love you guys!

Say Yes to the Dress

Since long before I would ever admit, one of my dreams has been to go to Kleinfeld's. I am an avid watcher of Say Yes to the Dress on TLC. I would even consider Michael an inadvertent avid watcher at this point. It's bad.

Anyway, I made an appointment at Kleinfeld's literally the day after we got engaged. I couldn't wait for this day to come and wanted to share in the experience with my mom, sister and future MIL and SIL. Everyone was so kind to come out to NYC for the weekend and I couldn't have asked for anything more in a dress shopping experience.

Kleinfeld's is best described as a well-oiled machine.  The place was packed, but everyone was so friendly and helpful. Oh, and did I mention my bridal consultant was Debbie?! She is like the most famous person on the show! My sister and I were so pumped when she came out to greet us. Debbie was amazing and gave me such an overwhelming sense of trust that she knew what she was doing and was the best at what she does. We are still sad we didn't think to get a picture with her.

At the end of the day I said yes to a dress. They literally asked me I said, YES! All of us clapped and cheered - a little bit ironically, but genuinely excited and happy. It was hilarious to hear random claps and cheers popping up all over the salon. I am so thrilled we were able to go and had such a great experience - NYC bucket list, check!

It was the perfect girls-only weekend in the City: wedding planning, shopping, cupcakes and Shake Shack. Weekends like this are definitely going to make me miss the City even more.
